11.15am – 12.00pm “The secret history of the Mile End campus”

Tour

This walking tour will explore the hidden history of our Mile End campus – uncovering the historical and cultural 18th and 19th century layers of our campus, and learning about the lives lived here before QMUL.

The FAST Show and Tell session will consist of a number of demonstrations showcasing some of the FAST IMPACTs project most exciting developments for the recorded music industry.
11.30am – 12.30pm  “The strange world of the intelligent bee – how researchers at Queen Mary probe the capacities on insect mind”

See first hand how bees are able to carry out tasks naturally, how there is a social organisation to bumblebee colonies and how they are trained to recognise artificial flowers.
